After much contemplating, I have started this blog as an attempt to take people on my journey of curious cooking and discovering and eating healthful foods (with a cheating session of baking every now and then, of course). First off, I never thought I would be doing fusion cooking and eating, much less healthy cooking and eating. My husband was born and raised in Chennai, India. I always imagined him to only eat traditional foods all the time. Fortunately, I was wrong. He enjoys a variety of foods. That made things a lot easier and more fun for me. I was able to experiment with ingredients I had never imagined eating. I grew a new-found affection for Yellow Crookneck Squash and Asparagus (vegetables I had never eaten until 2 years ago). There are so many fruits and vegetables out there that go unnoticed because they are simply not a part of your traditional cultural diet. Well, today I would like to encourage all of you to simply try a new fruit or vegetable that you were never introduced to as a child. Be curious, explore, and liven up your palate. Paint your plate with colorful fruits and veggies and become one step closer to a healthier you.
